Entirely my fault. Apologies to Magpie, and everyone else that clicked on the thread.

could I ask for an edit of my post, in light of the Daniels' deletion? [In reply to] Can't Post

Actually, what I would like.. is for my post to be deleted and an admin say the same thing in nice, lovely tones.

I was coming off a bad reaction to some highly negative posts on The Hobbit - music related, I thought they would be (as I told Daniel) Mostly Harmless. They weren't. I realized I had to stay clear of all absolutely all public, fan community discussions of this movie if I were going to go in to the movie with an open mind.

And then I open up the avoider's thread and got a whiff of opinion! (and negative, at that) It didn't help that I was awake at 5:30 am, unable to sleep, and trying to occupy myself while the rest of the household slept. All without coffee or glasses.

So, a deletion would be good (although I think the warning is valid) but a fix would be to add a smiley :-) at the end. I prefer the typed smileys... not the scary yellow faces. ;-)

I've done a little tweaking... [In reply to] Can't Post

...what do you think of it, does this seem better now?

And while I'm at it, I was wondering: would you like to have this post removed or edited?

your edit was perfect [In reply to] Can't Post

however, that second post you linked to was in response to someone telling me "The critcs reviews may have been mixed, but the majority of the fanbase seems to love it." - as a reply to the post where I said: "I don't want to know what people are saying about the movie."

It may seem harmless to say something like 'the majority loved it' but I really don't want to know. And, now I do know (if I didn't already) that the critic reviews are mixed. And as soon as we starting talking about what the critics are saying or the fanbase thinks... now we're back to talking about The Hobbit from a standpoint of having seen it already.

So, I was reiterating my request. But, honestly, for all people's good intentions, they won't get it. They've seen it so... everyone's seen it. Or, if they acknowledge that everyone hasn't seen it, they won't see any harm in sharing this one little thing. So... I will just spend more time away from the message boards.

Thanks for the edit! :-)
