Middle-earth Elves or Discworld Elves?

Can't Post

The Elves of Discworld, you must admit, will have one decided advantage: they will not be handicapped by such notions as fighting fairly.
(Am I the only person who still wants to scoop up Sean Bean's voice and lick it off a spoon like chocolate sauce?)

Tolkien's elves can use iron. Pratchett's elves can't; in fact, they can't even tolerate being around it. This gives Tolkien's elves a huge advantage. And while Pratchett's elves are sneaky, merciless and conniving, Tolkien elves like Maeglin, Eol, and Feanor and his sons certainly didn't worry about fighting fair and could be pretty merciless and conniving themselves. Plus, Tolkien's elves kick butt in fights. So I think Pratchett's elves are going to have their heads handed to them on a platter. On the other hand, Tolkien's dwarves and Pratchett's dwarves would be a much more even matchup.
With caffeine, all things are possible. The pity of Bilbo will screw up the fate of many.
