LOTR EE marathon in Düsseldorf, Germany Can't Post

Sorry folks,

I should have given a warning earlier but today at 10 a.m. (in four hours' time) there will be a marathon of the extended editions of all three LOTR films.

There are two locations here - the UFA cinema next to the main station is selling tickets for all three films for a total of EUR 21. Films start at 10 a.m., 2.45 p..m. and 7.15 p.m.

Then there is the CineStar cinema in Oberkassel which is selling tickets for EUR 24. I'm not sure about film times but check the website.

Sorry this information is so late. I've not been feeling well all week and my head is full of cotton wool.

I hope I won't cough my way through the films - I could end up being lynched. But I reckon I might as well be sitting there feeling under the weather as sitting at home feeling below par.

I will go there ... and back again.

about 100 people there. No dressing up, no real buzz, and breaks of 75 minutes between the films so we could fill up on food. We could leave the cinema if we wanted to.

The good thing about seeing these films on such large screens is that this time round, I was able to note things not seen on the previous 15 or more viewings in the cinema. Mind you, the last time I had seen the films so large was 10 years ago and I've seen them a few more times on my computer monitor - which is the size of an A4 sheet of paper. No wonder I noticed so many details this time round.

I will go there ... and back again.
