Slightly busy are we, Arandiel? [In reply to] Can't Post

Woah! No wonder you need to motivate your kids to help. You have a whopping load of activities planned there! That's part of what makes the holidays fun, though.

Enjoy the preparations and the movie when you see it! Smile

I think that's one of the things fueling the excitement around here [In reply to] Can't Post

I read TH to my two a couple years back, before they had any of the movie images in their minds. Utterly failed to get through the LOTR books before the Hobbit movies, but we will, eventually.

FINALLY!!! It's HERE!!! :D [In reply to] Can't Post

Well... within *twitching* distance! I think I'll snag a chocolate milkshake in celebration :D

I've got my ticket (#001) for the midnight show and will be hosting the line party! OMG! I'll be wearing my Wraith costume... which will be toasty-warm in this mid-December winter Michigan weather. THEN I'll be taking Friday off to recover AND go see it again; then at the IMAX on Saturday; then again on Sunday (already have all those tickets!) Whither then I cannot say ;)

I will also be going the the Lord of the Rings Marathon tomorrow (Saturday the 8th) at my local theatre! That was such a great thing they've done. Get primed and slavering-ready to go!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend... and thank Altaira :) Sorry BG and you must work, but it will make your first viewing all the more tasty after beting torn-tured like that! :)

HUGS!

it's a huge boost in self-confidence for sure. I'm telling all my friends who got through the program but are now wondering if it's worth the extra time & money to do the dissertation "DO IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT."

Thanks! I've been amazed as well at how happy people are for me. I kinda thought most people had a negative attitude about PhDs, but such has not been the case in the people who know me!

It was a long time in coming, wasn't it, gramma? [In reply to] Can't Post

Remember standing in that huge ballroom in Hollywood, seeing all our heroes up on the stage, glittering like jewels with their Oscars held high? Remember chanting "Let The Hobbit Happen!" until we were hoarse? Remember the postcard campaign? It all seems like a lifetime ago, yet, when I watch the trailers for The Hobbit, Middle Earth becomes as immediate and real as the ground I'm standing on. Shortly we'll be watching PJ's Christmas gift to us all (and yes, I've got about that many viewings lined up, too!!), but to me, the real gift is that this return to Middle Earth has re-kindled friendships and brings back the same love, excitement, and pure joy that we share in our little community (and you know what I'm talking about). TORn and the LOTR films introduced me to a community that ultimately brought me some of the very best experiences and now memories of my entire life.

gramma, I'm glad you're with me.
