Legolas and Tauriel question Can't Post

HiSmile

I was wondering, to ayone who has seen the film, do Legolas and Tauriel appear or not? I keep reading conflicting accounts. Thanks to anyone who helps clear this up!

Does Legolas [In reply to] Can't Post

appear briefly in the prologue? I haven't seen it denied (or perhaps I missed that).

That would be a major continuity hiccup. [In reply to] Can't Post

Legolas is over 2,000 years old as I recall, way older than any events the film deals with. And what role would Thranduil have in this film, either?

His role is to ... [In reply to] Can't Post

deny a home to the dwarves after the dragon drives them out of Erebor.

So they set him up to be an unsympathetic ex-ally of the dwarves, setting the stage for his hostility with Thorin in DOS and TABA.

I'm not very fond of that kind of plot development. It would reduce the surprise of Thranduil's appearance, and even existence in the second movie. Has this been confirmed by people who have seen the film, or is this just your own expectation?

I saw the movie so beware of spoilers. [In reply to] Can't Post

I didn't saw Legolas or Thauriel in the movie. But to be fair Thranduil is so mesmerizing that they could have put a red elefant in the scenes I wouldn't have noticed it. (sorry for my english)

In the original, two-film structure, Legolas and Tauriel would have been in An Unexpected Journey. That was when the first film was to end with Bilbo and the Dwarves escaping from the Wood-elves via barrel.

Exactly! [In reply to] Can't Post

that's what happened...when the films went to a trilogy, Legolas and Tauriel were supposed to be in this initial film...that's all...thus the figures got kind of caught out there with the first wave of action figures.
