If you could live anywhere Can't Post

In all of Middle Earth or Beleriand (before its flooding), where would you choose?

if we're talking pre-flood, I'd go with Gondolin [In reply to] Can't Post

because it's hidden from all the evil beasties of Morgoth.

In the Third Age I'd go with Rivendell - I want to get my hands on Elrond's library!

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

As for me and my house... [In reply to] Can't Post

I would choose Rivendell. Beautiful surroundings, good food, great music and Elrond's library. It's like going to college without any exams! (Not to mention the gorgeous guys who show up occasionally...)

Gondolin sounds lovely [In reply to] Can't Post

Not Middle-earth or Beleriand, but I also would like to live in Numenor. Early on, of course.

For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars, and so on -- while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man, for precisely the same reasons. -- Douglas Adams

Definitely Rivendell! [In reply to] Can't Post

Beautiful scenery and a library! One could just read all day. Or play music!

Rivendell for me too! [In reply to] Can't Post

As long as I could be treated like Bilbo was when he went there to 'retire'.

It would be nice to be able to make the trip to Hobbiton a couple of times a year, though, to visit... perhaps stay with Frodo in Bag end for a couple of weeks at a time. Smile

Woodhall. [In reply to] Can't Post

That glimpse of it through the trees has always intrigued me.

Even without the Elves there, there'd just be such a sense of history. Plus, I'm into forests.

Rivendell [In reply to] Can't Post

Although I'm more of a Hobbity type, I think I'd prefer Rivendell. It just seems to be peaceful, calm and it's quite beautiful. It has the waterfalls, the wonderful music and poems, the rich history. So yeah, that's where I'd go if I had to choose.

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.
