Arthur: What manner of man are you that can summon up fire without flint or tinder?
Tim: I... am an enchanter.
Arthur: By what name are you known?
Tim: There are some who call me... 'Tim'...?

Thanks [In reply to] Can't Post

done with my cancer treatments ( I hate being bald can't wait for my hair to come back)and hoping (praying) for a full recovery, but I never really left. I just haven't posted as much. And when i did I must admit it was mostly angry about the deviation from the book... But I'm over that don't really like the changes that IMO are unnecessary but it is what it is. Crazy I will say I have a friend who attended one of the premiers and said he would give me every detail but I just can't do it... I have my tickets for next Thursday at midnight and want to go in and be surprised and thrilled at the film. I've come to terms with this not being Tolkien's Hobbit and have decided to completely separate the 2. That way the film is the film and the book is the book, I can't promise I wont have a meltdown when something goes way off base but I'll do my best to not get thrown out of the theater Wink

I hope you recover fully and back to your health! [In reply to] Can't Post

Smile

As to the film...that has always been my stance. The two beasts are the two beats and each is separate from the other.

However i am quite positive it will feel like Tolkiens Hobbit on many occasions...characters, the vistas, dialogue, music, etc...

Although we should talk about the negative aspects of course, i fnd that focusing more on the positive aspects of the films , as in everything in life, leads to greater health, a more relaxed mind and a much more pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Remember those crazy Brits : Always look on the bright side of Life! Smile

Every thing I have seen of Armitage [In reply to] Can't Post

has been pretty good my only major concern is I have yet to hear any dialogue from the book. Frown Yeah I know it might still be there, but it just makes me worry they changed every bit of dialogue and kept none of Tolkien's which I actually like better than Jackson's. Esp when I hear them rehashing lines from TTT used by Gollum in the Riddles in the dark part ("we show hobbitses safe path thru the dark" "marsh") Its not like they couldn't have used the books dialogue and made the scene work. But I'll find out in just over a week how much if any of the dialgue from the book made it into the film.

and I hope you enjoy The Hobbit (part 1) more than you think you will. I've read in quite a few reviews that they actually use a lot of dialogue from the book. We'll see soon fer sure.

In those videos [In reply to] Can't Post

in some scenes PJ is without a beard, I wonder if this has to do with his Hobbit cameo (he had a cameo in every LOTR movie, I think it is a save bet that he will have one in each Hobbit movie). Since Hobbits have no beards, I wonder if he plays a Hobbit.

It's been hinted that he cameos as a dwarf [In reply to] Can't Post

Which makes sense for the beard to be shaved off, as it would create problems for the prosthetics.
