Movie Gandalf's tall, pointe, BLUE hat. The proof irrefutable . The actual hat was indeed

http://www.facebook.com/...p;type=3&theater blue in the LOTR movies. In some scenes, due to lighting and surrounding colours, it sometimes looked blue-grey or even grey. Now, I know someone will find a photo of gray hats from the current Hobbit shoot. I believe that the actual hat for Hobbit may indeed be grey, and I think in large part that is because of the type camera they are using for the films. I remember them saying they had to change the colours of certain items, because the camera caused them to look an entirely different colour on film. The WORST possible scenario, to my mind, would be if merchandisers who did a piss poor job on details and made the hat grey when it was supposed to be blue for their toys, pressured the film team into greying the blue hat up. That would be disgusting indeed, and I hope it isn't so. If they kept it the proper Blue hue for the Fellowship movie, there is no reason to make it gray in The Hobbit, as The Hobbit is the more colourful tale, in which he is generally referred to as Gandalf The Wizard, and is seldom if at all mentioned as Gandalf The Gray.

and is supposed to be blue, and was blue in the last set of films, and damned well is supposed to be and hopefully will be clearly blue in these films. There was previously debate, in these very forums, about whether or not the films got it right the first time. Having the clearest evidence I have yet found that they did indeed, I shared it. For some of us, such details are a serious matter. No apologies.

as is proper, and stick with it. Among other things, that one great patch of colour goes along ways upon that otherwise wholly gray attire. But, just as importantly, accuracy matters. Continuity as well, and I would much rather these films keep that visual consistency with the books and with the prior films than with some merchandisers misrepresented toy.it's blue. I see it as blue in some shots and gray in others. It would be neat if they held to the book, but maybe they are just letting the blue fade to gray to avoid confusion. Why is he called Gandalf The Gray if he wears a blue hat. And that begs the question, what color of hat does a Blue Wizard wear?

It could be tha the hat was a "forget me not" gift from Allatar or Pallando, ere they went into the East. If so, Gandalf would prize it highly and be loathe to change it or see it replaced. It might also be a realization on his part that too much grey could make one look like some manner of wraith. Lol. Whatever the reason, blue it is, so the stories say, and thus it should remain. It is accurate to the tale, aside from the fact that it just looks better. I hope they keep it consistent (which also means leaving the colour in).

It's really not about the colour of the hat, it's all about how pointy it is...

And that begs the question, what color of hat does a Blue Wizard wear? Grey of course. With the (revolving) point pointing toward East.
