This Sunday, November 18th, Classic FM has the world exclusive first play of Howard Shore's soundtrack for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The soundtrack to the Peter Jackson-directed film was recorded at London's Abbey Road studios by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of composer. This year Howard Shore's score for the Lord Of Rings trilogy topped the Classic FM Movie Chart, so there's certain to be much interest in the sound of the composer's new score. Tune in to the Classic FM Chart with Margherita Taylor from 5pm GMT to be part of this event. http://www.classicfm.com/...ve-18-november-2012/

You watched all the tv-spots... hearing the music before the movie will enhance your experience when you see the actual movie...not the other way around, I promise!

I've just listened to the beginning of the soundtrack, and I must agree to what others have said, that there MUST be a prologue, as the music have this "heavy" orchestra with dwarven chanting like in Moria.

I get what you're saying but don't we already have an attachment? Between reading the book, trailers, tv spots, etc its already there. I can only speak for myself in that listening to it now and again before the movie just deepens that.

I don't want to spoil myself either, but I've already listened to bits and bobs.. not much, but a tincy bit. I'm with Daniel on this to be honest. But I really can't resist .. :s Now they're playing Dark Knight Rises.

I checked it out (am listening now, as a matter of fact), and the show is a top 30 countdown. The site says #1 for the week will play just before 7:00 p.m. That's in one hour (noon MST here in Colorado, 2:00 p.m. EST, etc.). Enjoy!

I guessed it would only one or two tracks at most, since the album is not released yet for a few weeks. With LotR, the week before the release date they made it "album of the week" and played a different track each day. Hopefully they'll do the same for AUJ...
