Ruapehu, one of the two North Island mountains that stood in for Mt Doom in LOTR, is becoming more likely to erupt.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. D'you think it's getting ready to let off some Gandalf-style fireworks to celebrate the opening of 'The Hobbit'?

I read the title as meaning 'more likely than usual'. If the title said 'likely to erupt' I would think that an eruption was imminent.

Hopefully New Zealanders won't take it as the king under the mountain returning...that's not gold flowing from Ruapehu
"'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!' Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand. What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.''
