Will you continue to watch tv spots? Can't Post

If the dark knight rises is any indicator, we still have 5 more tv spots to go. So the question is: how much is too much?

"'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand. What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.''

There's no such thing as too much! [In reply to] Can't Post

Especially as the TV spots are so short, and contain recycled scenes/shots.

We may get to see as much as 5 minutes total footage from an almost 3 hour film [In reply to] Can't Post

Probably quite a bit less than that, actually.

(You, however, really should listen to the soundtrack Angelic)

Yes, I will. [In reply to] Can't Post

I know I shouldn't, but I'm already spoiled so I don't really care.
In December I can see it all in its proper context and I know I'm going to enjoy it.

So for me it's not really a bad thing. What IS a bad thing (for me) is listening (non-stop^^) to the soundtrack. I've noticed that I'm imagining what I'm going to see in the film; I'm linking the music to the images (and other stuff) I already know and I'm filling in the blancs so to say. And THAT could be a bad thing, because then there is a chance that scenes will disappoint me... (I hope I made myself clear)

Yes, 5 minutes or so at the most, plus... [In reply to] Can't Post

...a lot of what we see won't even end up in the movie, or will be replaced with a different take, or is edited so massively in trailer form that it barely resembles the actual effect in the movie itself. Basically I am quite happy to watch all the trailers and commercials knowing that much, much more awaits me in the theater.

It probably all adds up to less than 5 minutes of footage [In reply to] Can't Post

Not all of which will necessarily be in the film.

For example, we have yet to see any shots of dwarf history, the Goblin King, the eagles, the other main orc baddies, etc. This is going to be a long, long film, and we really aint seen nuthin yet.

Yes [In reply to] Can't Post

I will watch more TV spots, more trailers, more video blogs and of course I'll watch the movie. None of it is too much.

-Tim came by. Tim! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort of remarkable tale.

The slow trickle of new TV spots is keeping me spoilered-up, for the time being. [In reply to] Can't Post

I would've listened to it by now if I was spoiler-dry!

That's not to say that I may or may not of had a very sneak listen to the very first track. Shocked Tongue

Definitely [In reply to] Can't Post

I wouldn't be able to stop myself from clicking even if I wanted to.

It's weird, though, how little promotion I've actually seen apart from finding all the latest clips here. I've never seen trailer #2 in theaters at all, and only seen trailer #1 once this fall (and a couple of time back in the spring), and I go to movies a lot. It's really not much, especially considering I was desperate for the Dark Knight Rises to be released, not because I was particularly looking forward to seeing it, but because I was so tired of having to see the trailer before every single movie I watched.

I see what you did there. Wink I plan on watching no more TV spots, the last one (#6) reveal a whole new scene, and I think im done seeing new scenes and want the rest to be surprises. With less than a month now, i can hold off.
