Need help planning a Tolkien party for The Hobbit movie

This forum looks like a great place to get suggestions for the party I am planning. I want to have a Hobbit-inspired party at the movie theater around 10 pm on Thurs. 12-13-12. 2 hours prior to the midnight show.
Please give me ideas on what you would consider a great party. Here is my current plan.
Tickets will cost $49 and include a ticket to see the movie, unlimited food and drinks, a costume contest, valuable Hobbit/Tolkien merchandise or memorabilia, and the chance to win a trip to the 2013 Tolkien conference at Valparaiso University called "Celebrating The Hobbit." A random drawing will take place to win the trip.
Do you think the elements of the party are worth $49? Please share your ideas on what components you would have at a similar party.
