"Persbrandt is not in The Hobbit"
Can't Post
This article was the biggest "scoop" today in the movie section of the Swedish tabloid magazine Aftonbladet: Mikael Persbrandt is not in The Hobbit He won't show up in the first film: "Peter Jackson could have cut the movie differently" The premiere for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is approaching. Those who long to see Mikael Persbrandt in the shape of a bear will be disappointed, though. Beorn is not in the movie. Mikael Persbrandt's much talked about debut on the international film scene will hence be delayed, because of director Peter Jackson's late decision to turn the story about the hobbit Bilbo into three movies instead of two. The shapeshifter Beorn will therefore not show up before film number two, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013). He's also in The Hobbit: There and Back Again (2014), confirms Mikael Persbrandt's agent Peter Jansson to TT Spektra. Stretched out For die-hard Tolkien fans, Beorn's delayed appearance is not a surprise. David Borgström, an avid Tolkien reader since 20 years, and purchaser at the Science Fiction bookstore in Stockholm, says that the thin source material, the novel The Hobbit, and the collected works from Silmarillion(!), needs to be stretched out to fill the movies. - Peter Jackson could have cut the movie differently, but now that he's making three movies, he's probably going to make the action sequences - like the battle of the seven(!) armies - longer and richer compared to the book. And that makes it logical for Beorn to not appear right away. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will open on December 12th.
Now now Bill, you swore this was a battle between warriors, not a bunch of miss nancies, so warriors is what I brought
