Mmmh, i'm not really sure about it [In reply to] Can't Post

The interview of Benedict Cumberbatch was before the movie split, but PJ's one was after.

But after all, if the 2sd movie is all about Smaug, the glimpse wouldn't be a bad idea..

The music is unequivocal [In reply to] Can't Post

That's Smaug's theme at the end of A Good Omen, just before the credits music starts. My guess is that the camera will zoom over Mirkwood to the Mountain for the closing shot, similar to what was done vis-a-vis Mt. Doom at the end of TTT.

It's possible we'll just see the Mountain itself (probably with smoke wafting out), rather than Smaug himself, though.

Hmmm, well, regardless... [In reply to] Can't Post

...I'm not happy with that theme if it's for Smaug. Not nearly memorable enough, and it's too similar to some other villainous orc/Mordor material. Since Shore is so meticulous when it comes to connections to other themes, I'm doubtful it's for the dragon. But we'll see.

Really? Well, let me start. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't like his song. It doesn't have Dwarvish, Middle-Earthy or Hobbity feel to it, and doesn't particulary stand out. I.e. it's neither memoriable nor descriptive of the film. Perhaps it'll feel more suitable after watching the movie and being in that special state of mind the song was written for...?

But every word you say today
Gets twisted 'round some other way
And they'll hurt you if they think you've lied

I agree [In reply to] Can't Post

The Misty Mountains theme is truly wonderful. I've been listening to the soundtrack and it's a great work by itself.

Never ask an Elf for advice, for he will say both 'Yes' and 'No'.

Finally had the time! [In reply to] Can't Post

To begin listening to it all the way through. It did a little stuttering about a third of the way in (16-18 minutes) but still wonderful! Now if I can just keep still and ignore everything around me I will finish it.

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.

"Do not say that, dear Frito," cried Orlon. "It was a happy minute for us all when you were born."

PJ's comment about seeing Smaug was in the latest EMPIRE... [In reply to] Can't Post

and his words were "most likely in the Prologue..."

More stuttering... [In reply to] Can't Post

throughout. at 26 minutes as well. Is anyone else having this problem?

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.

"Do not say that, dear Frito," cried Orlon. "It was a happy minute for us all when you were born."

At last! [In reply to] Can't Post

Dazzlingly marvelous! Perfect! Flawless! Staggering!

Except for the skippy bits--and at one point the right speaker didn't seem to work--but so worth listening to. I wish I'd noticed sooner that the names of each musical part was on the track line. I would like to hear what part the carnival sounding music was for. Must have been in Hobbiton,

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.

"Do not say that, dear Frito," cried Orlon. "It was a happy minute for us all when you were born."

Drats! Talking to myself again. [In reply to] Can't Post

Oh well, more music, more TV spots, more trailers. AND I discovered my MP3 player plays videos too.

Frito groaned. "I wish I had never been born," he said.
