Twilight: Breaking Dawn II hits theatres November 14th. Some places are even holding all day marathons ahead of an early release.
Say what you want, the franchise has changed the landscape. It has even featured music by our Howard Shore (Eclipse) and cinematography by Guillermo Navarro (Breaking Dawn I&II).

Which isn't quite accurate. It's more likely my sister will bring it home on DVD some day and pop it in while I'm here and I'll end up watching it with her. So I don't necessarily want to, but I'm sure I will.
That's what happened with Part 1. I actually liked the demonic pregnancy story that one had, but with that over, I've no real desire to see this last one.

I'm almost positive my gf will want to see it which means i will go along to.
The movies arent totally bad - nearly, lol but not all.
For me i dont think they have changed the landscape of cinema. They will be soon forgotten once it is all over - as is almost everything. In 20 years no one will even know it happened, mwhaha (evil laugh).

They've never really recovered from New Moon... After Twilight, which really was quite good, and has held up well under many repeat viewings, New Moon was quite disappointing.
I think a lot of people who were interested in the story and characters, but who weren't exactly Twihards, fell away after New Moon. I don't know if it was because they changed directors, or if it was the shoddy CGI, but it just wasn't very good even without comparing it to Twilight. The films since (Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) have been much better imho. But perhaps it's a case of "too little too late" for most of the rest of us non-Twihards.

I voted no, period. I haven't seen any of the Twilight films and aren't gonna start now. There's only one book adaptation I'm looking forward to at the end of this year!

probably because it was the movie that most improved on the book. I liked Eclipse (book and movie) the best, but Breaking Dawn the First ruined it for me. Although that won't stop me seeing part two in the theatre - gotta see how they end the film story - but I won't be going near it the first few days.

it started to grow on me. My love has nothing but praise for New Moon, but she's more forgiving of structural problems (or more enamoured of Edward) than I am.

I take back my previous comment, theres two adaptations I'm looking forward to.
I'm in the same boat as you in regards to Life of Pi. I saw the trailer and thought "wow. I have to see that!". It genuinely looks amazing. I can imagine it'll garner a few academy award nominations as well

the big screen will be at the second run theater. My granddaughter and I have decided to finish out the series but with complete expectations of disappointment. We were not impressed by Breaking Dawn One.

I watched the second movie with my daughter (she's a werewolf nut, so we skipped the first one.) It didn't grab me, so I'm not interested in the others.
Back when I was thirteen I think would have been really into these though. I sure was a Dark Shadows nut back then.

I read the book a couple of years ago, after hearing about it an an annual church event called "the best book I read this year", where people recommend books. I always get a great reading list. Anyway, I loved the book. It leaves you wondering what really did happen? I'm hoping the movie has the same mysterious quality, about what's real and what isn't.
I'm also pretty excited about Oz the Great and Powerful coming out this spring. It looks like it's at least somewhat true to the books. I'm just hoping it doesn't try to rip off Wicked. That would be really disappointing.

I haven't read any of the books or watched any of the previous movies so why should I start now? Judging from all (positive and negative) opinions I get about the whole series, it just doesn't strike me as something I would be remotely interested in. So I just stay away from is *shrugs*

This movie and anything that has to do with this movie needs to be burnt into a pile of garbage that this movie is.I can't believe there are still more movies being made.Especially after what our favourite wooden actress pulled.LOL I hope it's the last one so we can get this movie over and done with so we never have to think about the twihard franchise again

haven't seen part I since I heard it was the worst of the bunch, which is saying something. But I do find it interesting how Meyer has tried to imagine a totally passive woman turning into a powerful one, so will eventually watch the last two for that & see if there's anything I want to write about.

I thought Twilight was deadly dull, but liked the wolves in New Moon. Both in wolf and in human form
I know I saw the third movie, but can't remember a thing about it except the scenes up on the mountain.

Basically it sucked, lol. I went as my gf wanted to go.
I think the role of bella plays to kristen stewart's strengths - terrible, wooden acting and either i have forgotten how she was in the previous twilight movies or she has become even more wooden.
Even my gf said it was bad and she has either liked or loved the previous twilight movies.
Whatever they were in the film, they were not vampires - more like superheroes with no weakness at all.
The plot with Jacob was terrible (i havent read the books so its all new to me) and it felt kinda creepy and just there so he could take his clothes off for team Jacob fans.
The two main characters bella and edward - kristen and robert kept on telling each other how much they loved each other looking like they were in pain (as they do in twilight) but all i could think about which made it even more unbelievable was how kristen slept with the director of snow white - cheated on robert - so now not only do i not like her acting, i dislike what i have heard about her as a person.
However the scenery looked beautiful and the house they lived in (cottage) is something i aspire to live in one day.
Oh and there was some funny accents, cgi baby, and michael sheen doing his best to make the film better.
The best bit about the film was the hobbit trailer at the beginning and that my ice cream came with a glow in the dark spoon 
i went on a friday at noon and it was packed! Loads of girls wearing team jacob or team edward t-shirts - even middle-aged+ women which seemed a little weird. The older the woman the more they seemed to go for Jacob - im guessing its the body, lol. I always thought it would be the other way round for some reason.
Anyway its going to make loads and loads of money but i imagine for at least half the people paying they are not going to enjoy it - which proves once again box office success does not mean its a good film.
Score 3/10 that;s for the scenery and the fact i found it funny in parts (it wasnt meant to be). Oh and the opening credits were decent to.

everyone I know who is not a teenager was totally repelled by the whole "stalker" aspect of Edward - sneaking into her bedroom to watch her sleep? That is SOOO creepy! - and how he dictates to Bella how things will be based entirely on his own feelings. Jacob, on the other hand, actually treats her with some respect and kindness.
And skinny, pasty-pale does nothing for me. I like men to have muscles, and I think reddish-brown is the most beautiful skin color a person can have. So yes, I preferred the werewolves
