http://www.amctheatres.com/...-frame-rate-theatres See THE HOBBIT in HFR 3D The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released this December in all motion picture formats, including the brand new format High Frame Rate 3D (HFR 3D). This represents a technological advancement in the motion picture experience and AMC is proud to participate. The innovative format presents the picture in 48 frames per second (fps), which is closer to what the human eye actually sees. This is twice the rate of the standard 24 fps, which is the current format in cinemas worldwide. We hope you'll experience HFR 3D for yourself at the select AMC Theatres below, or you can enjoy The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in any format you choose, including 2D, 3D, IMAX or IMAX 3D. This theatre list is subject to change. Looks like I'll be watching The Hobbit at the same theater I saw Star Wars 3 in... I feel this will be a better experience.
-Tim came by. Tim! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort of remarkable tale.

The Regal website has been a bitch to navigate, so it's nice to see a straightforward listing! I've decided to see it in 24fps 2D first so that I'm only focusing on the story and not being nitpicky about whether or not I like the visuals, and I'll prob see it in 48fps 3D within a week, so I can take in all of Jackson's "vision" for the movie.

Both my local theaters are on the list, including my favorite. Now if only someone would start a line party there so I don't have to...

my lady and I are actually going Friday night to see it at 48FPS 3D because we are seeing my favorite band The Mountain Goats on Thursday night. what a glorious two days it will be. I might have to stay away from here Friday morning.
