Post [In reply to] Can't Post

Just ordinary post. As Daniel said, anything else would have made the whole thing a LOT more expensive (FedEx was another $100 or something daft). But he posted them staggered, so whoever got theirs posted last will probably have a couple more days to wait, if the first ones are just coming.

Thanks! [In reply to] Can't Post

It was funny to think Captain Cook could have stood in the same place looking down on his ship 200 years ago. Without the motorboats of course. Unfortunately, because it was a weekend they were everywhere. Smile

Me, too *TTT* [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm now going through throes of, I did give entmaiden the right address, didn't I? It's not lost somewhere in the mail system, is it?

We do have a frame shop we trust implicitly, so once I get my map I'll know the next step.

Hello? Post office? Is there a tube coming my way, please???

So I sent Daniel an email thanking him. [In reply to] Can't Post

And I got a sweet reply right away. He's such a nice guy. And he did say that he's glad to know that they're getting to their destinations and that they're bringing joy with them.

My mom happened to have an empty frame that will fit it, so it's just going to go in there for the time being. Maybe after I've had it for a bit I'll be able to let it out of my possesion to get it properly framed.

Rats! [In reply to] Can't Post

I was sitting here reading some e-mail and the Gaffer called from the front of the house: "The postman's out at the mailbox and he's holding a big cardboard tube!" So I sprinted to the front window, just in time to see the postman, tube still in hand, drive away up the street and turn the corner.

How very unhelpful of one of my neighbors to order something in a tube just when I'm waiting for my map!

Maybe tomorrow....

Got # 50 tonight [In reply to] Can't Post

I posted above because something else LOTR happened on my way home. Mine is all re rolled the other way getting straightened. I'm going to wait to frame it to have a close look because I'm so afraid I'll damage it. Now...need to go write him a thank you :-)

I have lost the dwarves and I have lost the wizard, and I don't know where I am; and I don't want to know, if only I can get away.

It *was* my map! It *was* my map! [In reply to] Can't Post

I saw the postman with a white tube about 11:30 this morning, but he left the rest of the mail in the box and drove away. So I figured the tube was something for someone else.

But no!

About 4:30 the Gaffer and I went out for a walk. We weren't even past our driveway when we saw the mail truck coming towards us. "It *was* the map!" I shouted, and sure enough, the postman stopped and handed it over! And then got away before I could ask him why on Middle-Earth he hadn't dropped it off this morning. My address was on it plain as the nose on your face.

And then the Gaffer and I had to actually cut the cardboard tube away from the map, and he cut his finger on it, bless him for the Sammish supportive soul that he is.

But it's here, it's here, and it's just gorgeous! Squeeeeeeeee!

I have #21. My map's an adult -- well, not in hobbit years....

Here's to TORn! Hip hip hooray!

getting really worried...who else hasn't gotten theirs yet? [In reply to] Can't Post

Should I be worried, yet? Did the packages come requiring a signature? What happens if mine gets lost, etc?

I should be practicing "TTT"...but instead, I'm fretting.

Anyone else fretting too?

There's a lot of cool additions that were not on the last draft.

I love the key to Bag End by which Altaira closed up and locked the Old Boards.

Now unlike gramma I have to think seriously about where to hang it!
