Woo-hoo! [In reply to] Can't Post

Perhaps they landed on the west coast, and are moving eastward at this very moment.

All right! [In reply to] Can't Post

That means they're fanning out across the US! My postal person is going to wonder why there's a crazed face gazing out my front window this week.

Do we walk in legends or on the green earth in the daylight?

A man may do both. For not we but those who come after will make the legends of our time. The green earth, say you? That is a mighty matter of legend, though you tread it under the light of day!"

"Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you."

Wah! I've had to part with it! [In reply to] Can't Post

I just took it to the framer. It was not easy to leave it there all by itself.

This being not just New Zealand but an arty suburb, the lady recognised it at once as being, in her word, "hobbity" :-) I think it's in safe hands.

Old gold. [In reply to] Can't Post

We've got quite a bit of brass around the place, so that should fit in well. A fairly narrow frame, as I didn't want to overwhelm (or overshadow) the map.

I'll post a picture when I get it back (remind me if I don't!).

Thankyou Daniel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow I thought I would be dead last hear at the bottom of the peninsula, out in the gator infested wilds! # 25 is nice number, half of how old I am. I wonder if I can get a frame for it that will seal it air tight so the humidity won't damage it and nasty little teeny tiny ants can't crawl up in there and die leaving ugly little black and brown spots. I am ready for the desert about now, or maybe some mountains!

A myth is far truer than a history, for a history only gives a story of the shadows, whereas a myth gives a story of the substances that cast the shadows.~Annie Besant
Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole, and once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I can't remember who it was. [In reply to] Can't Post

It was years ago, in the first or second age maybe. Someone was trying to put up a gazebo, and it collapsed on him and he was inside holding it up in the middle, just like Sam under Shelob.

Anyway, your subject line sure made me smile :-)

OMG OMG OMG SQUEEEE [In reply to] Can't Post

I got my map today!!!!!

I just cant believe how BEAUTIFUL it really is.

I spent nearly an hour just pouring over every inch of it. Tears kept springing to my eyes when I found certain little touches.

Like the fox, of all silly things.

Thank you EVERYONE who was a part of this, and especially to Daniel Reeve.

BTW, I am #9 out of 55, here in Southeast Tennessee
