hmmmm..... not sure how they're numbered [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a list of orders, but so far the numbers don't match the list order. The list is started out alphabetical by country, New Zealand, then the US, but over time there was no real order to the list.

Bottom line - I don't know the reasoning behind the numbers. Guess we'll find out when they're all delivered!

They're picked by fate! [In reply to] Can't Post

THAT'S SO COOL! I mean, it appeals to my sense of order than Daniel's maybe got his own system going. Maybe according to location/destination that helps the processing/sorting for the mailing system. Less likely for delays or loss.

*gulp* Did I say loss?! HEAVEN FORBID!!

I know I'm not helping [In reply to] Can't Post

but I'm glad they haven't all arrived yet. I'm out of town this week and having palpitations about my precious map sitting on the doorstep. It will be safe there, but I'd rather be home when it arrives., Flying home Thursday night, though. so tomorrow would be OK.

Do you happen to know [In reply to] Can't Post

whether they're coming by US post or by UPS or something else? You may have said already and I missed it. I'm just curious, because of that doorstep thing. The postal service will leave a note saying to come pick it up at the post office if it won't fit in the box, which would actually make me more comfortable than finding it lying on the ground, though I'm sure it would be OK. (Decades ago we came home to find a very expensive set of the Encylopedia Britannica we'd ordered sitting in the rain; luckily the cardboard kept the rain off for the short time it was there.) Anyway, just wondering.

Number 23 [In reply to] Can't Post

was waiting for me when I got home from work today. I was a little afraid I'd damage it getting it out of the tube, it was wedged in so tightly; I ended up cutting a notch in the cardboard of the tube so I could (very carefully) tear it off and let the map emerge that way. It's beautiful! Thank you, Daniel! Now I really need to figure out how to frame and where to hang it.

My guess is that it's coming by US Post. Maybe those that have received one will let us know how their prints arrived.

Number 18 was on my doorstep tonight! [In reply to] Can't Post

So exciting! I almost leaped out of my car before it was in park to get it. So I came into the house, quite, quite happy. My mother wonders why I'm in such a good mood, and I show her the tube. It's so beautiful! The colors, the little details, seeing the names around the edges! It is a wonderful thing, a thing of beauty.

Ok, so I am a little bit happy to have gotten it. LaughBlush Now I need to dash off an email to Daniel about it and thanking him for his work.

My mom asked if I was going to be able to trust it in others' hands in other to get it framed. I don't know about that... I'll have to think over it.

I'm going to go and look at it some more, but I had to come and tell everyone!
