Fanfic discussion: The Servants of Ungoliant Can't Post

This is a fanfiction series that I wrote, and have been working on since 2010. It is set in Arda, but in Mórenorë (Dark Land), rather than Middle-earth. Its events occur in the late First Age, during the years of the War of Wrath. Here are the links to the story:

first part (ten chapters):

second part (currently ten chapters):

third part (currently seven chapters):

And for further information, visit the TV Tropes article here:

In my story, Ungoliant (instead of devouring herself or being slain by Earendil) has become the Queen of the Dark Lands, and acquires not only great power, but many, many different types of servants. Among these servants include Giants, Ogres, Orc-like creatures known as Gongs, Mannish people known as Darklanders, etc.. The story is mostly focused on these servants, although Ungoliant herself still has a major role in the overall storyline.

It also focuses on events that occur in Far Harad and the Sunlands, such as a war between Ungoliant's minions and the Men of Harad, and the adventures of a group of Elven refugees fleeing from the War of Wrath.

The perspective of the story alternates between these many groups, and shows much sympathy for not only the Elves, but also the Men of Harad, and many of Ungoliant's subjects.

Servants also features many unused/non-canon elements from The History of Middle-earth and Middle-earth Role Playing. However, it also features large quantities of original content, allowing it to fit with Tolkien's legendarium, while standing out as its own story.

By the way, I'm aware that the writing of the story isn't exactly consistent sometimes, but I do plan to re-write the story to remove or change inconsistencies. In the mean time, enjoy reading the story.

Disclaimers: Includes mildly suggestive content, some graphic violence, crude language, and other potentially disturbing features, though it is mostly in the second and third parts.

Also, It may be a little hard to follow the continuity between parts two and three, since they overlap with each other at different points.

And if you are arachnophobic, you may read it more easily knowing that Ungoliant does not appear as frequently as you might expect.

I might also post chapter discussions for Servants for further convenience, provided that it seems reasonable to do so.

Always found this character intriguing [In reply to] Can't Post

I look forward to reading them later this week!

In the movies Elrond, Denethor, Haldir, Galadriel, and Celeborn stink.

Interesting work [In reply to] Can't Post

One bit of constructive criticism, if I may. In the very first sentence of the first chapter, you use the word "massive" three times. You may want to change that up a bit.

Thanks for posting. [In reply to] Can't Post

And I am currently planning to re-write my story a bit, to fix a few inconsistencies with the established canon.

Anyway, would you recommend this story to anyone? I'd like to know.
