possible release date for The Hobbit UJ soundtrack ??

Can't Post

A poster at Doug's blog found this entry at Amazon which lists a December 11 release date for a 2 disc, Deluxe edition of TH/UJ soundtrack. Now, other listings were found earlier that Doug either shot down or looked dodgy. This one was declared to be 'inaccurate' by Doug. Another listing looked kind of dodgy to me. Doug pointed out that they got the artist wrong - they listed the artist as 'The Hobbit' and I was made wary but the 'export' label on it. But the first link I sent you to does list the label as Water Tower Music (a branch of WB) which is the company that seems to be handling the Hobbit soundtracks. Earl found another listing at Amazon which does not say Deluxe and costs less than the Deluxe listing. The release date is the same and this also says the label is 'Water Tower Music'. Many might remember that the LOTR soundtracks - the OSTs released in conjunction with the movie - came in a regular, jewel case edition and a deluxe leatherette edition (called Limited Editions or LE). As far as music goes, the FOTR and FOTR LE were the same. The TTT LE had one additional track that the regular TTT did not have. And the ROTK LE had an extra DVD with a good amount of extras on them. So there is some history of Limited or Deluxe editions. As I said, Doug commented on the two suspect listings but has not commented on this latest, Water Tower Music listing. It could be that he is busy. :-) Or, it could be he can't. He must let all news come from official channels and, other than this listing, there has not been any official statement or press release. For my part, I don't see any benefit in ordering this early. I will wait to make sure the button I click to buy gets me the real, official CD and I want to know more about the Deluxe edition (should it be accurate) before I choose. I am just posting this for consideration of the possible release date. To read the comments at Doug's blog: http://www.musicoflotr.com/...ml#comment-678141393 More info on the LOTR CD releases: follow the link in my footer to my soundtrack site and find 'CD Editions' in the left navigation frame.

Could the titles of the soundtrack give us some clues about the plot?

Yup, they premiered HS's "Forth Eorlingas" from the TTT score on a radio show geared toward classical/film music. //
