No, I don't think they've ever published magazines [In reply to] Can't Post

There was an official LOTR fan club back in the days. They published the magazines for that trilogy.

Empire is a good bet in fact! [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it could be the new issue of Empire magazine. In their last issue they teased about a great Hobbit edition with revolutionary cover coming next. That must be it!

It does look like a one-of-a-kind edition (made by? in collaboration with? TORn). Whatever it is, I want it NOW!

I knows, I knows, I gots one, precious! [In reply to] Can't Post

What do you know,I just bought one of these, and I'm holding it in my grubby paws! Kudos to whoever the Tolkien fan is at my local Barnes and Noble! I work right next to one, and often pop in there on my lunch breaks to kill time. Today I went in looking for The Economist and found this peeking from the other side of the shelf. "Must be SFX," I thought, "in another month they'll be all over the place." Then I saw "TheOne Ring.net Collector's Edition" in the top righthand corner and my reaction was similar to Gloria Stuart in Titanic "Well, I'll be god-$%(*#D!" Sly

All I can say is, the folks at Empire had better look to their laurels! I second Daniel's question: What's Topix, precious, and how does it finance? You guys havent got a shadowy connetion to WB now do you?:) How did this come about? is this the start of an Offiical Hobbit CLub magazine??

Dat and double drat, I don't have a scanner, but do you folks mind if I spill a little bit?

Only $8--$7 if you're a member. And it really is worth it. [In reply to] Can't Post

Though guys, I have to wonder about that ad on the back inside cover...."Blowfish for Hangovers'? Huh?!
Was that Xo's suggestion? Anticipating the after midnight showing experience maybe?Laughj/k

This might be balanced out by some of the great bumpersticker titles in the Fan section: "I Eat Punks Like You For Second Breakfast" (my fave so far)

Got to sign off and try to read some of this!
