Discovery from the second trailer

Today I was rewatching the second trailer and I noticed something. In the first bit when you see Gollum(Smeagol) has really big pupils. Then when he asks himself '' and if it loses, what then?'' which is obviously the Gollum side his pupils are really small. And after that when he tells Bilbo he will eat him with the nice voice(Smeagol) his pupils are big again. Does this means something ? Gollum definitely looks scarier and more serious with the small pupils, and I like it. What do you think ?

This is how they've always distinguished between the two personalities

They did the same thing in TTT and ROTK. Smeagol has the fuller pupils and looks 'sweeter' for it...;)

I think that is a big reason why there is so much commotion about this scene. The Smeagol looks to nice, but in my opinion the Gollum side looks scarier in TH then in LotR. Yeah.. I'm already planning a LotR movie marathon. ;)

Here. There are plenty of things we all miss, even after all these years! It's a perfect way to signal Gollum's internal conflict.

And never noticed it in the trilogy after all these years. Will definetly be watching out for that in the future viewings.

Having watch the two towers last night I do think that the larger 'Smeagol" pupils are bigger in the trailer than in any part of that film. However, he is underground in the dark during the hobbit, whereas he is walking around in the sun for most of TT so him having bigger pupils in his cave would make sense really.
