The Encyclopedia of Arda only states that October 15 would be the start of the Dwarvish new year this year. Durin's Day doesn't happen every new year. So will it actually be Durin's Day this year? That would be fascinating indeed during such a great year for The Hobbit! Of course, simply being the Dwarvish new year is as fine a reason to celebrate as any. Notta
