So impatient! [In reply to] Can't Post

Yeah, I don't really imagine Carrock like that either, but I'm just throwing out options Smile

Lonely Mountain for Sure! [In reply to] Can't Post

As Bilbo is told the story in BagEnd or over Campfires
We will see their goal..
Which is What This is..
a shot from a Flashback.

Carrock is only about 8 stories high
& since PJ wants to be as Canon as possible.
It' a just a hint so
That Movie goers know
Where Smaug lives. ..

That's All it us.

Not anymore [In reply to] Can't Post

I half (well 1/4) thought there might be someone on one of the eagles' backs at one point, but this larger shot makes it clear the "rider" is just a spot of darker sky.

I don't think this will literally be the last scene in the film. [In reply to] Can't Post

There were scenes of Lothlorien shown in trailers as well, and while that was the last major rest/visit in Fellowship, it wasn't the last scene. I continue to say, I will be very surprised if An Unexpected journey actually ends in the moment the Eagles swoop down. If that is the case, then the trailer essentially shows the very last scene in the movie, which I doubt. Probably, the company will be taken at least to the Aeryie, and we may even get a little talk of Beorn by Gandalf.

There is no need to show the last scene of the film!

I understand and apreciate that they hve been throwing us this pieces of info I couldn´t resist to them but sometimes I feel this is too much

The Misty Mountains [In reply to] Can't Post

Are said to be approximately as high as 12,000 feet, according to Karen Wynn Fonstad's 'The Atlas of Middle-Earth', so it could be.
Details, Details...

I admit that I think of any poster of The Hobbit that [In reply to] Can't Post

doesn't have the hobbit Bilbo in it misses the mark.

I am inclined to disagree. Posters of Thorin, Gandalf, [In reply to] Can't Post

and Smaug (though I know we won't get the latter in these times of trailer secrecy. . . OH for the 80s when the great creatures were used to sell the movie in the trailers, rather than wait and see secrets lol), because they are all MAJOR players in the story, even without the additions of Dol Guldur and even without any purely speculative additions by Jackson et al. Not all Lord of The Rings posters featured Sauron, even though he is the title character of that work. lol.

I think it is fine to have posters that feature other major characters. Bilbo isn't even going to be everyone's favourite character, and it can be argued that Gandalf and Gollum are more iconic and more easily recognizable, especially in the wake of The Rings movies. I would have much more of a problem with the story straying too far from the book, than with posters that don't show Bilbo.
