Got my tickets to An Unexpected Journey 2D!

I have now been freezing in queue for several days and have gotten to know many nerds in my hometown! My seats are in the middle of the theater, so I am really happy with it! I also have additional info! I am not promising you that the film is three hours, but there was this famous movie guy in my hometown (don't remember his name), who had been invited to see the rough cut of the film in the theater where I was standing in queue. He was inside the theater for a little bit over three hours, so I like to imagine that we will get a close to three hour film! Anyway, I am looking forward to watch the film 12/12/12, 12:12 am Norwegian time!

It's freaky how close the release is, isn't it!? I don't even know when the film is releasing here in India. I've emailed Warner Bros. India but haven't received a reply from their end yet... Grrr!

I was number 15 so I was one of the first ones to get there! Now I can just sit back and relax for two months and enjoy the film when it's released :D

They are showing rough cuts of Hobbit in Norway? Have a hard time believing that. He should have told you all the secrets, then. Do they sell tickets just for the premiere or other shows as well?

I'm just wondering, how can they schedule shows without knowing the runtime.

About three hours and 10 min. But that usually includes all the commercials, so it will have more or less the same running length as the fotr theater version. aprox 3 hours.

So they are leaving at least 3 hours 30 minutes between shows (including commercials)

Probably they are just estimating, leaving a long enough gap between shows, to be prepared in the event it's 3 hours long. Sorry, i'll believe 3 hours (or close to) when i see it officially confirmed.

It sounds to me like that is pretty official. Not that it can't change between now and then, but I doubt it will change by more than a few minutes. Good news!

It's likely that WB has given them an estimated length. 2 hours and 44 minutes sounds very specific, so as you said if there are any changes it's probably just going to be a few minutes.

Here in the States, can't buy tickets that far in advance, nor can you buy tickets for a particular seat or row. Or at least, not anywhere I've lived in the States.

Based on the information found by Daniel and Magpie and others in response to my thread about when we are likely to know the length, it is not likely to be set in stone until it is finalized. Still, I can't imagine that will change very much.
