I'm really hoping for some surprises in AUJ, I a suppose in backstory/Dwarf flashbacks, Necromancer/White Council stuff and perhaps some plotting of the Orcs/Goblins. The trailer really does make the film seem pretty limited, IMO.
I'm interested in seeing the extensions to Bilbo's life in the Shire; how the personalities/agendas of the Goblins are realized; and Thror, Thrain, and the backstory of Erebor/Dale.
My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

For example, the trailers have shown us not one glimpse of some of the dwarf history that is surely going to be shown film 1. For me, that is greatly anticipated, and I look forward to being pleasantly (I hope) surprised.

I have played "The Hobbit" so many times in my head at each stage of its production that I now have fifteen versions in my memory. As to the movies in their final form; I guess we all know what they will look like but what course they will follow it is anybody's guess. This a good thing.

Thank you - that really helps to see both trailers combined into one, with the scenes in chronological order. In fact in just under 5 minutes worth of film we can see the basic outline of the story as far as the eagle rescue... Though now one can't help wondering how much padding PJ is going to need to expand that into 3 hours worth...

Wouldn't happen to have a link, would you? :)
There should be at least some of AUJ which we haven't seen yet...we know Saruman's in it yet no trace of him in the trailer, we know they've shot backstory for Erebor ETC.

Can you imagine the hate and anger the fans would have exploded into if the entire film was a surprise?
There is more going on in this marketing campaign than any of us can possibly fathom.
I have a feeling that there will be plenty of surprises in store for the fans when the films come out.
