Amazing deal: Buy Theatrical Blu-Ray LotR for $10 and get money towards The Hobbit ticket Can't Post

I don't know if this is a mistake or a really good deal, but I just bought one:

$10 for the entire trilogy in Blu-ray is awesome alone, but you also get money towards your Hobbit ticket. I already have the Extended edition, but this is so cheap I had to get it. Now I can watch both versions!

Good chance this is for real... [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it has to do with the release date. They have the same set for $22.50 that comes out 11/20. This $10 one releases on 12/4. Maybe they're trying to spread it out with an incentive for waiting? You would only have 10 days if you wanted to watch it before The Hobbit.

There's a catch [In reply to] Can't Post

Those darn Blu-Ray things won't play in your DVD player, your laserdisc player, your VHS machine, your RCA select-a-vision disc player, or even your Sony Betamax VCR (even though Blu Ray was also invented by Sony!!). It claims to be a digital format but it's totally incompatible with the cartridge port on the Commodore 64.

Not only that, but for the best picture quality you have to buy one of those newfangled flat rectangular TVs!

That is just not groovy, man.Tongue

DIY fun. [In reply to] Can't Post

Why not go under the bed clothes, spin it round and shine a torch on it. Or try fitting it in your floppy drive. I've spent many a happy evening doing this.
