Terry Pratchett’s Own TV Company To Adapt Good Omens And The Watch Can't Post

I am happy and excited that both of these projects are moving forward!

Story: http://www.bleedingcool.com/...omens-and-the-watch/

Follow-up for The Watch: http://www.bleedingcool.com/...d-tv-show-the-watch/

Who else here is a big Discworld fan? I'm glad to see that The Watch has a decent budget and a head writer who ought to know his stuff.

Does anyone have an update on the big-budget Discworld movie? I have a feeling that this project may be stalled, but maybe I'm just impatient.

had not heard that! [In reply to] Can't Post

I am a great fan of Pratchett (whom I first heard about here on TORn!) and I love the Watch books. The question is, who will they cast as whom? (Please, please not David Jason as Vimes . . . I am baffled as to why he was cast as Rincewind, he was all wrong for the part, and I thought he was a terrible ham in that part and in "Hogfather" too.)

In a way [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought Kenneth Brannagh might make a good Vimes.

The production company website is at narrativia.com Nothing there yet, but checking obsessively!

Some years ago I played with casting the Watch [In reply to] Can't Post

and Kevin Spacey came to mind for Vimes. He's been living in London for years now, surely he can manage an English accent?

Although now, I might plunk for John Simms. Branagh could play it (or anything) but he's a little too . . . solid . . . now.

Liam Hemsworth for Carrot.

I thought Jeremy Irons was a perfect Patrician.

Nobby needs to be much weirder looking than the guy who played him before.
