Here where I live in Norway people never line up [In reply to] Can't Post

So I'm pretty certain I can just be on my computer at 9 AM on October 7th and buy my ticket(s). Don't know if my friends want to order that early though.

They really seem to favor Scandinavia!

Advanced tickets? Check
Early release date? Check
Quiz with 4 tickets to the London premiere as the main prize? Check

And on top of that I contacted my local cinema today and there will be a midnight premiere.

I'm ready: http://i.imgur.com/co4U4.jpg (where I'll be watching) Cool

Impressive [In reply to] Can't Post

I remember people lining up for ROTK in Helsinki about a week before the tickets came out. I myself arrived the morning before despite the freezing cold weather.

I think my queueing days are over, though. I must be sensible and go to work instead. Tongue

advance tickets [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm glad they have assigned seating in theaters these days.

Although I wonder when they will announce which cities will have 48FPS?

I'm assuming Los Angeles will...

Also if the midnight sells out, they do 3am screenings at the IMAX theater I go to alot...Crazy

Really? In the USA? [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm frequenting a box office forum and i'm reading a lot about only a few places having assigned seating in the USA, as opposed to Europe where it seems to be common practice.

It's starting to become more common [In reply to] Can't Post

especially theaters with an IMAX screen and/our boutique theaters like Arclight:
https://www.arclightcinemas.com/

Personally, I LOVE it. I get too stressed if I'm running late to a theater and have to find a seat. I can't miss a single preview or frame of the film. Unsure

Advanced seating should be mandatory everywhere! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm feel so bad for you Americans who have to show up 3-4 hours early just to get some good seats, while I can just order a good seat online and show up 1-2 minutes before the movie starts!

Just to be clear [In reply to] Can't Post

With assigned seating you mean you get assigned a specific seat, right? Because that's what i mean. I love it, no need to get to the theater early for fear of getting a bad seat somewhere at the far sides.

Norwegians in this thread, does anyone know if any of the theaters in Bergen are showing the Hobbit in 48fps? I've tried to email them but have gotten no answers.

I study in Prague so I might see TH here, so I guess my question is the same for Prague: does anyone know if there are any theaters in Prague with 48fps?

Thanks :)

Yes! [In reply to] Can't Post

on fandango, I literally get to pick the seat I want. It's glorious.

for the Prometheus midnight show, a bunch of us made a facebook event and stated the seats we got so my coworkers and friends were able to buy seats at different times and still all sit together.

Sometimes they're assigned to you without a choice, I don't like that.

Near the top in the middle is perfect for me. I'll be booking seats in a 5 metre radius to my seat. I don't want any distractions. Evil

I mailed SF [In reply to] Can't Post

SF (Svensk Filmindustri = the company that runs 99% of the cinemas in Sweden) and they said that they won't release the tickets until late November! You lucky norwegians!

They also said that they expect to show TH:AUJ in all cinemas in 48 fps and 4K-something (whatever that is). So, whatever one thinks about 48fps, you just got to get used to it I guess! Because it seems that it's the only choice when watching AUJ in 3D over here. I'm not on the 48fps-bandwagon as of right now, but maybe that will change.

Queue for tickets [In reply to] Can't Post

So to get the tickets first, the way to go is to actually head out to the cinemas and purchase them? Buying them on internet isn't an option?

I just want to make sure that I know which way is the best when my time comes. Btw, some pictures of that AUJ-queue wouldn't hurt! Tongue
