King leonidas V King Elesser

I think Leonidas would slash the s**t outta Aragorn, you just gota lisen 2 their pep talks to know who the brutal one is. "By all that you hold dear on this good earth - I bid you stand!" which is great but against somthing like "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL" ......
So many strange things have chanced that to learn the praise of a fair lady under the loving strokes of a Dwarf's axe will seem no great wonder

Boy, this is a tough one. Both Leonidas and Aragorn/Elessar are great warriors. I sometimes think Aragorn's stand at the Black Gate was in part inspired by Leonidas' stand at the pass of Thermopylae -- at least in the sense of a small but determined force facing overwhelming odds and certain death in order to buy time. Anyhow, I'd give this one to Leonidas, but not by much. The Spartans are an altogether harsher and more ruthless bunch than the Dunedain.
With caffeine, all things are possible. The pity of Bilbo will screw up the fate of many.

At the prime of his life at 87, Aragorn has almost half a century worth of fighting evperience over the 40 year old Leonidas. Old age and cunning always beats youth and a bad haircut.
****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

He could just shoot Leonidas from afar. He DOES have a bow, after all. And even in close combat, watching Leonidas' style and Aragorn's style of fighting (I know about sword-fighting, I take Kenjitsu and European Broadsword classes) I know Aragorn would win. It would still be a really close contest though, Aragorn'd have a harder time than he did with Lurtz by a long shot.
If Gandalf could just jump on an eagle and fly into Mordor... WHY IN THE NAME OF ERU DIDN'T HE DO IT THREE MOVIES AGO!?!

Aragorn for sure! :)
Good night, then - sleep to gather strength for the morning. For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly on all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

Since you quote the immortal "Tonight we dine" line, I take it you're referring to the movie Leonidas? The guy who went into combat in a red cape and black leather Speedo? Aragorn would turn him into cat food (although I grant the layer of pancake makeup on Leonidas's torso was almost thick enough to serve as armor).
(Am I the only person who still wants to scoop up Sean Bean's voice and lick it off a spoon like chocolate sauce?)

This is kind of funny... One of the groups on my floor at work has a whiteboard that they use to post "battles". Sometimes legit, sometimes silly. Just recently it was King Leonidas vs. Gandalf the Gray. I had to laugh. I'll even take Aragorn over Leonidas. Viciousness does not always win out.

I'm with Darkstone's reasoning on this.
Great, where are we going?

Did you see how many arrows it took to kill Leonidas!?
