Grinnah Can't Post

Assuming that everybody has seen the leaked images of the action figures Bolg, the Goblin King and Grinnah. There is still a site with these images online but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to post it I have the pictures saved on hard drive anyway. Just wondering if anyone can make out what Grinnah and the Great Goblin are wielding and also what Grinnah has strapped to his back?

grinnah has a whip, and the GK a skull-tipped staff [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks... [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought the GK had some kind of club rather than a staff. Couldn't make out Grinnah's weapon properly. Do you have any idea what is strapped to his back?

Might have to do with the hair not looking good enough on the figure [In reply to] Can't Post

As you can't do individual strands, so it's possible they just decided to drop the hair.

Bolg [In reply to] Can't Post

Also Bolg looks kind of skeletal. I am thinking that he may be undead, I must admit to really liking his look.

Bony look [In reply to] Can't Post

Do you think it comes from the bone-armor he is wearing or from being undead? Or both? The weird neck and side-gashes make me lean toward undead, but perhaps there is some other explanation?

Actually, there's no reason for Bolg to be undead... [In reply to] Can't Post

... firstly, according to the book (not that it matters ;)) he's alive during the time of The Hobbit while it's his father Azog who's dead.

Secondly, the character description of Azog indicates that although presumed dead, he now shows up at the head of an Orc horde. So it really seems like he'd be the one Sauron brought back to life.

Interesting for sure Smile

In the action figure pack [In reply to] Can't Post

Bolg has been paired with Gandalf. Does this mean that Bolg is the one who leads the orcs at Dol Guldur and is taken down by Gandalf? Whereas, Azog leads the orc horde at the BO5A. Sure looks this way.

I think this is very likely. [In reply to] Can't Post

I guess they wanted Azog to show up at the BO5A to make it more personal for Thorin and Dain maybe?

This is what previous descriptions from a German website suggested [In reply to] Can't Post

Bolg was described as being the head of a torture unit at Dol Guldur, while Azog was described as someone thought to be dead, but returned.

Very interesting...

just because he's called the Necromancer, doesn't mean that important characters have to be resurrected or something! Crazy
