Do you recognize those words spoken by Gandalf? Think back (or ahead) to "Three Is Company".

as it appears in the books, though to my own tune. lol. It resonated deeply.
"Hear me, hounds of Sauron, Gandalf is here! Fly if you value your foul skins, I will shrivel you from tail to snout if you step within this circle!" "Do not be to eager to deal out death in judgement. Even the very wise cannot see all ends."

So, is Gandy quoting a Hobbit song here...

Or does he say this to Bilbo, Bilbo includes it in a song he writes, Pippin hears it years later (from either Bilbo or Frodo), and then sings it to Denethor in Minas Tirith?
My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit" 5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck 4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot 3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan 2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate 1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

Just something he picked up, and using it to try and give some poetic 'umph' to his words. Though what I'm more concerned about is how he says it. Seems very strained, or rushed. Why would that be? When in the film is it said?

but it was certainly appropriate. Leave it to Gandalf, or moreso Ian McKellan, to evoke the spirit of adventure.

presenting it clearly in this messy trailer. Objectively, the whole thing is about Bilbo, him finding himself in this adventure, leaving behind the world he knew... I love it! It's very encouraging. Isn't funny btw, how the vlogs are better put together than this trailer? Or is it just me? It is? Right, okay then.

I think I must agree Faenoriel. The Vlogs were possibly better structured... but they're a very different media form I suppose. //

Even if it did come from some other place in the book, I think that central theme of leaving home to go on adventures in the wider world is so central to The Hobbit as well as LOTR. Plus it's just a great quote for anyone who is peaking out at the wild world from inside their cozy home. It's one of those that really stays with you! Very inspiring stuff

... the vlogs have had a much better structure than this trailer. I personally thought the trailer was a has of a lot of things and it didn't do anything for me on the first viewing, except when Gandalf uttered these words... I had a mild chill down my spine

about ramping up the majority, not the die-hard fans who look at the vlogs. You know, the ones who are only going to see The Hobbit because they saw the trailer on with some other movie. For me, though, it's the vlogs that keep me going. And yes, I'm glad to see that The Hobbit is looking to be more hobbit-centric than it looked to be at first.
