Bilbo and Frodo's birthday celebrations Can't Post

Hi,

Is anyone heading to New Zealand to celebrate Frodo and Bilbo's birthday? I am a journalist and looking to find out how people are celebrating these.

Well, [In reply to] Can't Post

on the discussion boards we have a large party planned. You can read about it here.

I haven't read anything about events happening outside the TORN website in NZ. Hopefully there is something planned and they'll post about it here. :)

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

New Zealand? [In reply to] Can't Post

Why go to NZ? We in the Tolkien Society have been celebrating Oxonmoot since 1974. This is a weekend get-together held in Oxford, as near as poss. to Sept. 22nd. This year it's at Lady Margaret Hall; that is, the college where Priscilla Tolkien was an undergraduate.

Going all the way to New Zealand for a Tolkien event? What a bizarre notion.

For an idea of what Oxonmoot is about, take a look here -
