Ommission(s): The Journey Back... Can't Post

As much as the decision to make 3 movies lessens the likelihood of anything being left out from the book, if there was one chapter I would bet on not making the movie it would probably be the one covering Bilbo's return journey. Cinematically, it doesn't really add much to the story, and there are no real 'link' moments as far as giving The Hobbit a nice flow in the LOTR trilogy. I instead see them ending the movie going back to Ian Holm's Bilbo closing out everything conversing with Frodo.

It has been a while since I read The Hobbit & I'm not well-versed in Tolkein's work overall, so I am interested in your thoughts. Fire away!
