Finally new pictures! On the German website herr-der-ringe-fim.net appeared the first picture of the elvenking Thranduil and also the first picture of the White Council (consisting of Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel and Saruman). Here they are: Thandruil in all his glory The White Council in Rivendell I hope that these pictures haven`t been posted before. What do you think of them? Do you like the design of the elvenking? What are your thoughts about the White Council meeting we see? Source

Except Oin and Gloin. But they've all grown on me since then, so I'm sure Thranduil will do the same. I just imagined he'd look really natural. His crown of leaves in the book made me assume he'd wear earthy and natural clothes. Perhaps even wearing leaves. So shiny 70's silver is a surprise. But it's not horrible.

Thorin´s picture that was revealed here on The One Ring didn´t make my day, but nowadays is one of my favourite designs, so of course I will give Thranduil more than a chance. The crown seems too risky in design, and I love that, I felt the same with Mouth of Sauron, and nowadays also is one of my favourits I love when they take risks in design. I feel is the sylver robe that seems to me a bit out of place, at the end reminds me I dont know why to David Bowie, anyway, We should see him on his own halls where I´m shure that light candles will make his cloths mucho more interesting

I also expected him to dress more similarly to Legolas.

But there seems to be no relationship between their attire. Maybe Thranduil will be very narcissistic and a little racist. I.E. not a good guy.

Perhaps Legolas´s costume we have seen is only fro moving in the woods and being unnoticed. Perhaps when we´ll see him in Thranduil´s halls during the party we will see him with similar clothes

So they might have something similar to Legolas. Though, he is the King, so I wouln't imagine him wearing green tights like Legolas.

He captured the dwarves for little reason, and went to the Lonely Mountain with his great host to claim a treasure that he wasn't involved the slightest in. Tolkien describes that he is overly fond of jewels and gems - I would like to add that he's a thief as well! Just my opinion... never liked the elven king in the book. Bard's claim to the treasure I can fully understand, but Thranduil's? Greed, and greed only.
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

isn't too bad, not sure about the crown yet,but hats about it. His clothing reminds me of Legolas's at the council of Elrond in Rivendell. Miht be that what we are seeing is his formal wear and he has other clothing for battle and traveling and such. the White council, not really any surprises there. As figured Saruman is sitting like many people have suspected and the reat of the characters look about the same some just a bit older.

though I must confess I forgot about Glorfindel I also thought perhaps they may include Radagast on the Council even though he was never listed as a definite member.
But in Lindon Gil-Galad still maintained his power, and Sauron dared not as yet to pass the Mountains of Ered Luin nor to assail the Havens. [The Silmarillion: Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age]

Do you think the White Council will definitely consist of only those four charakters we see in the picture or is it some kind of a special meeting and perhaps in other scenes Radagast, Círdan or Glorfindel are included?

...as in actual leaves and berries and sticks in his hair (well, actual prop ones) - but I've gotta say, I really REALLY like this character design. And the hall sketches look good too. I am too easily won over by shiny pretty things.
