Possible story structure repercussions... [In reply to] Can't Post

While I agree that the title There and Back Again should remain for the last film of the trilogy this may change due to the effect three films now has on the structure of the story. Primarily will they reveal the dragon in the middle film? The Desolation of Smaug is certainly a worthy title for the middle chapter but can they get away with using it if that film doesn't feature said character?

I just remembered: this was the April Fool's joke for 2009 // [In reply to] Can't Post

..The land of long-forgotten name:
......no man may ever anchor near;
..No steering star his hope may aim,
......for nether Night its marches drear,
..And waters wide no sail may tame,
......with shores encircled dark and sheer.

..O! Haven where my heart would be!
......the waves beat upon thy bar
..For ever echo endlessly,
......when longing leads thy thought afar

hrm... [In reply to] Can't Post

I really did like "There and Back Again." It drew from the original title of TH, and it just... fits somehow.

Maybe they'll still use it, as others have suggested?

Lord Sméagol? Gollum the Great? The Gollum! Eat fish every day, three times a day; fresh from the sea. Most Precious Gollum!

I liked Flies and Spiders, but it didn't fit [In reply to] Can't Post

1: The Hobbit: The Fellowship of Thorin
2: The Hobbit: The Two Towns
3: The Hobbit: The Return of the King (Under the Mountain)

Just being silly.

I like having chapter-title based film titles, and I quite like A Thief in the Night and Fire and Water as possible film titles. Desolation of Smaug probably has the most movie-like ring to it, though.
