To Comic-Con Interviewers: Ask PJ About The Green Tint In FOTR EE Blu-ray Can't Post
Please do your research about the Green Tint issue on The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition Blu-ray. There are two issues: 1) The new color grading has been widely accepted - that is not at issue. Nice work, especially Rivendell. 2) There is a static, indiscriminate green tint overlay on the entire film, including titles and fades to white. It is either a late-process mistake after PJ signed off on the transfer, or a terrible choice.

Ask PJ if he is even aware of the Green Tint controversy (which is *not* the same issue as color grading), and why he has made no direct comments about it , relying on others to pass along hearsay.

Ask PJ if his, and the studio's, lack of response is because the studio is trying to save face and the costs of a remedy.

Ask if the release of the single editions of the Lord of the Rings movies will fix the issue or retain the tint.

When he says he's been a tad busy with a little movie called The Hobbit, don't accept that excuse - it will be seen as speciously evasive. There would certainly have been a spare moment.

Pin PJ down until you do a responsible job on behalf of all the fans to get a complete and accurate answer that even the cynics can't deny is an honest response directly from the director himself.

Do us all a favor and let's see if you can definitely make this issue go away. Only you and PJ can do that.
