You can enter books to your heart's content in LibraryThing, and they offer a very inexpesive optical reader to scan in the bar codes on the back (or inside cover) of many books. I scanned in my entire library - yes, it took a while, and yes, about 20% of the books did not have the little tags that made it easy to scan. My username on library thing is not hard to guess.

My closet has books from floor to ceiling bookshelves completely full, after I pruned my book collection. I have a separate bookcase filled completely with all my favorites. Not to mention the 263 kindle books. It would take me far too long to add all the books I own, and I have probably read at least a thousand :P Virtual libraries are not for me.
My progress so far on my walk to Rivendell I have traveled 71 miles I have passed Buckleberry Ferry. It is 2 miles to the next landmark. I have 387 miles until I reach Rivendell.
