Custom prop réplica: Eowyn's shield (full scale) Can't Post

Hello everyone, how are you?
I am new to the forum, and I'm from Spain, so I apologize if my English is not very good ...

I would like to introduce the first replica I've done. This is the shield of Eowyn, when confronted with the Witch King.

It is completely handmade. The shield is made of wood with a metal edge, and the central boss is resin.
It is the most accurate and detailed replica made so far, based on numerous references and pics of the original seen in the film.

Hope you like!
Greetings ...

many thanks!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Thank you very much, guys. I'm glad you like it.

DanielLB: I'm doing some replicas for other collectors, and in real-time work, it takes from 4 to 5 weeks, although in some processes I can work on several shields at the same time.

Chopsta123: this is the first reply that I do. I am a lover of weapons and shields, and as United Cutley has released only two shields, I have decided to do some others. This is the first in a series that I have designed.

I have also begun work on a replica of Aiglos 1:1 scale, even though it took little thing ...

The sword is the official Sword of Eowyn, from United Cutley.

Thank you very much again.
Greetings.

I would be interested in how you made it? [In reply to] Can't Post

Is it a hobby of yours, or are you trained in making such things? Did you source the wood yourself? Smile

Many thanks, guys... ;D

DanielLB: Yes... I'ts just a hobbie. I'm graphic/web designer and video/3d editor. By now, I only work 4 hours per day, in the mornings. This means what I have some free time in the evenings, and always I liked to work with my hands... ;D
I love all relationed with weapons and medieval warfare in general.

This is a part of my LOTR collection:

The entire shield is hand made with me. I let you some pics of the wood source process:

It's a hard work of source, because all the marks, scratches and erosion marks are fully hand made, as the paint process, in differents stages.

You can see more pics and info in my personal blog:

I take a couple of years without buying anything new, by the economic issue ... but little by little.

I just noticed your wall! [In reply to] Can't Post

Did you paint the Middle-earth map on, or is it wallpaper? Where did you get it from?

I keep my eye on ebay for UC swords. People have been selling loads recently, although, I expect the price to go back up with the release of The Hobbit Smile

it's a paint... [In reply to] Can't Post

The first idea was to print it on paper or vinyl and stick it on the wall, but the problem is that there is no map on the Internet with sufficient quality to make it right.

My wife was the idea of painting directly on the wall. At first it seemed crazy, but I thought better, and I found it really a good idea. It took me a week working only in the evenings, and really enjoy a lot.

Some swords are really hard to find, and of course, you can be pretty sure that they are the price will rise, as always.
It takes patience and some luck ...

Greetings...

You have a lot of skill, i really do wish i was able to do something like that and make it look decent! If i did it, it would probably look like a child had scribbled over the wall!

What do you friends and family think of the wall?
