Which of these computers would scare you the most if they were installed in your home?

Joshua called me... [In reply to] Can't Post

I love War Games, but since Joshua did finally figure out that war was pointless, he was, in the end, not scary.

I went with the Matrix, but Hal is certainly chilling from what I've seen though I admit I've never seen 2001 in its entirety.

But what Marvin the depressed robot with the superiority complex? He calls you up just to wash his head at youLaugh

Oh, HAL is okay... [In reply to] Can't Post

He just needs a bit of therapy to get over that nasty 2001 incident. Maybe Deep Thought could help him talk it out.

Skynet [In reply to] Can't Post

Though the humans did manage to gain the upper hand.... it's probably just lurking out there in the "cloud"

These are all scary in their own right... [In reply to] Can't Post

However, the scariest computer ever is from a video game. Specifically, GLaDOS from Portal.

P.S. The cake is a lie.

Is that where that phrase comes from? [In reply to] Can't Post

I assumed it was a reworking of 'there is no spoon' from The Matrix.

What about MCP? [In reply to] Can't Post

Master Control Program from Tron deserves a mention.. maybe not that scary though.

And I have to second the mention of GLaDOS!

i thought it came from [In reply to] Can't Post

...a funny version of the Sith Code. The Sith Code starts with "Peace is a lie, there is only passion..." and ends with "... through victory, my chains are broken". The funny version goes: "The cake is a lie, there is only pie...." and ends with "... through pie, my chains are broken" or something like that. Can someone confirm that for me?

ok i was wrong [In reply to] Can't Post

I just looked it up. I hadn't heard of the game Portal before. Before looking it up, i had read somthing connecting it with the Sith Code, and pie, and so I got confused Blush
