you've got good eyes...I need slo-mo to see.
Davy Jones could've been Bilbo...I mean he was a Brit with a sense for adventure, singing & dancing. And think of the costs it would've save with forced perspective: he was ACTUALLY 5'3. He also hung out with a grumpy tall dude in a hat (Mike Nesmith.) While we're at it let's just make Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork Merry & Pippin.

I thought you may've been being nit-picky. Perhaps referencing some naunced way of holding a camera that only the secret society of D.P.s know about...and then I saw the vlog again...Boy, are you right! Who holds cameras like that!?

A happy, fun-loving crew is great

But Hollywood would only learn a lesson if the final product, the films, turn out to be good! The question is: does this kind of an atmosphere necessarily result in a high-quality film? I would say not necessarily, but possible. Though this is IMO, I thought King Kong and Lovely Bones were quite bad, and wasn't overly impressed with LOTR (though they were most certainly very successful). So at least for me, a happy cast and crew did not translate into a good film. After all, one of the most hellish film productions ever - Apocalypse Now - produced a masterpiece. The set of Lawrence of Arabia was not the funnest place to work, but out came an epic film like few others. In short, I don't care too much about what the behind the scenes experience is (unless it is abusive or exploitative.) As long as the meat grinder produces high-quality hamburger, I'm happy.

You think hellish sets create good art.? Check out 'Caligula'. ha. It's like you say " a few others". As a viewer you're entitled to your opinion and I can see why you feel that way but as someone exposed to the nonsense I'm sticking with my opinion. Oh, I didn't care for KK but I love LOTR & LB. And to be exact I'm talking about the Hollywood of today. I don't see many masterpieces coming out of there lately just movies that make huge money because tickets prices go up each year...I almost fell asleep during 'the Avengers'.
