That was actually my first thought (the dragon from The Neverending Story) or the big yak type thing that is in the Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show. That would be an Air-bison. Yip, yip! I'm guessing that the prop represented the back of a Warg.

Reguarding Glamdring: I've been through the Gandalf/Thrain scene frame by frame and cannot see a sword visible during the fight. Doesn't mean it isn't there, but doesn't confirm a revised timeline yet either.

Many have commented that Glamdring might already be with Gandalf before Troll-Shaw based on shots of Gandalf wandering Dol Guldur with the blade in hand. But at 7:56 of the vlog we see both Glamdring and Orcist being carried behind 2nd 2nd Assistant Director Bruno Du Bois (translated Bruno of the Forest, cool eh?) onto the set of the trolls treasure cave together while Gandalf and Thorin walk by without the legendary blades! It's not conclusive but it's certainly promising. Hopefully the frame by frame analysis later will give us some further speculation.

Kieran as Legolas has made my day. It looks like this is a very fun (and busy) set to be on! Did anyone else catch the enormous cat on the green screen? :D

Smaug in the Rankin Bass version had a vaguely feline look to it. At least the head did. And if you'll notice, there is a gold glow behind that cat suggesting it is sleeping on a mound of treasure. I think they are dropping a hint there. I'm onto something!

I think every person you have ever heard of has a cameo. (Mostly kidding!) He is visible in the production video, does that count?

They make it seem as if they are just filmed and slapped together but watch carefully and the use music and graphics and text and editing to tell a story. They are intelligently planned and executed. Meanwhile they are documenting this giant film too.

Some of the same team and they released those videos twice a week to KongIsKing.net, a branch of TheOneRing.net. Half are still online and half were put on sale on DVD. All are great.

Yes, he was on a Comic-Con panel with us. He was, as I call him, the architect of the LOTR DVDs and hopefully someday the guy who produced the ULTIMATE LOTR Blu-Rays with all new extras. He is definitely a friend to TheOneRing (and KongIsKing) and is mindful and respectful of fans and Tolkien and Peter. In my opinion, having any other person do the home entertainment package for these films would be a big mistake. Warners saw the wisdom and hired the guy and I dare say we will be more pleased later when we see all there is to see. In the meantime, he hands us these excellent Vlogs.
