Well, the back of a redesigned Warg. But it IS redesigned, and it has nice, furry, wolfy hair. Wonderful!

No, the hair and the shape of the neck aren't ponyish, but wolfy. //

I must admit, I actually like this design better. It's more coherent and more Medieval.

I love the scale doubles, Kiran is king. Daniel Reeve with his No Admittance sign, awesome to see him in a vlog. Richard Taylor on the back of something furry, so fun. All the actors camping it up, what sports. all that artwork at WETA that was blurred out, can't wait to see what it really looks like. Barrels, hmmm, interesting.

Quint was never on the lot (at least officially) so I don't think this has anything to do with what he saw or did. I feel confident WB just wants to keep things closer to the release date. I bet post Comic-Con there is going to be an avalanche.

The Vlogs come from the behind the scenes team, led by Michael Pellerin. Everybody knows who he is right? He is very, very good. Maybe the best in the business and the only guy we would want doing Middle-earth or Peter Jackson stuff. Giant Tolkien fan too and a heck of a guy.

when it's actually months since we last saw anything from the production. But it's a fabulous video as usual. We get to see what we would never see in the movie itself. I love the fact that we got to see other actors we hadn't seen before like Luke Evans and Billy Connolly, and more barrels scene!

It took me an hour and a half to watch this on my crappy Internet (and pausing every five seconds), but so incredibly worth it. I've noticed that they've started to be more secretive with stuff—blurring out art that's hanging around, and refusing to let us see Film 2 stuff. (But we saw so much Laketown stuff, I wonder what that model could have been? Smaug's lair complete with mini-Smaug?) At 2:57, I think we might have confirmation of lady dwarves, which we've seen vaguely in fits and spurts; all the prosthetics are mounted on notecards, and if the first name is the actor for whom the prosthetic is intended, instead of anything else, there's an Amy Brighton who is getting a small rounded nose prosthetic. Other than that, I'm pleased as punch to find that the amazing Brett Beattie is scale doubling for Fili. I was rewatching The Two Towers the other night and was just remembering how much work and love he put into doubling for Gimli. And the cameo at the end is brilliant. I've enjoyed seeing Bloom mature over the past few years; if The Three Musketeers is any indication, he's become comfortable with his career in "genre" films (I hate that terminology, and yet what I else can I use?) and doesn't take himself too seriously. Sure, he's not the greatest actor ever, but he seems to have his head on straight and willing to work. And it's great to see him tease Jackson and Kiran and clearly having a ball. That's what I'm so impressed by in these vlogs; the care, dedication, and love that's going into this and that exists between these people.

"We are taken to "a scene in the troll cave". If you look carefully, a guy walks by with what appears to be Orcrist and Glamdring. This leads me to believe that Glamdring's origin will be from the troll-hoard, as it is in the book. (Some people had speculated that Gandalf would always have his sword in the films.)" Yes, I think, Glamdring will be there in that troll-cave. But in the trailer Gandalf was figting in Dol Guldur with Glamdring against Thrain. How that could be? My opinion is: 1. Thorin has the key and the map, before he meet Gandalf. Thrain was captured without key and map. 2. Gandalf goes only with his staff to the nazgul-tombs. 3. Gandalf finds Glamdring after that at the troll-cave. 4. Gandalf meets Thrain in Dol Guldur after he leaves Bilbo and the Dwarves. They fight. 5. Maybe after that there will be a battle-scene with the nazguls. It would be very different from the book, but this could be the answers for the film-riddles about Glamdring.

... in the last one I would like to see just a smidgin of a glimpse of Thranduil. We know nothing about him beyond the name of the actor, but he must be in film one if the barrels are. And I'm so curious about him - yet also slightly torn because I don't want to see everything beforehand. But Thranduil, Beorn, Bard..... On the other hand, though, I'm more than glad of whatever comes. I've really enjoyed all the production videos - just so much fun.

I was working on my laptop, then, checking facebook I found the Vlog... and I just traveled to Middle Earth- NZ Hobbiton- Hobbit production and had a great time. Such great work indeed, this is a kind of new experience to atend first the production, then, the movie. Now I am back to my life again but feeling I had a great ride out there. It was a fantastic Vlog!! And holy pants, can´t wait for The Hobbit movies!!!!

then I saw your reponse. Echoes my sentiments quite well. I enjoyed seeing all the behind the scenes people - it helps understand what an undertaking all of this truly is. A few quick peeks of filmed scenes were a bonus, not an expectation. I could have watched for another 14 minutes.

Is very similar to the "fake fur" the production has added to the ponies to make them look less like horses (because they are, actually, horses). Hard to tell re: shape, as this may be a prop just for closeups. I think its a pony.
