After all these years, I still see something new! Can't Post

Upon watching Return of the King tonight, I noticed something I had never seen before:

A man behind Aragorn with an eye-patch on! Yes it's not the most interesting observation, but after all these years, and countless viewings, there are still things happening in the background that I have not yet noticed! On more research, this extra is the same extra in The Two Towers with a missing eye at Helm's Deep.

What things have you recently found while watching the films?

I admit it... [In reply to] Can't Post

I clicked the link just to see what shot of Aragorn you were talking about. Evil

But it's good to know that guy survived Helm's Deep. I was rooting for him....

I haven't watched the films in years *gasp*. Another thing on the summer to-do list.

"That line between the earth and sky came beckoning to me..." - Laurie's Song

Arwen's banner at the Pelennor [In reply to] Can't Post

Though how it got there and who is holding it is a bit of a mystery. If you blink you will miss it. It's on the left.

The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

It's lovely. [In reply to] Can't Post

It's too bad it's not actually mentioned or anything. I understand that Narsil took it's place, but since they took the time to make it, they should have at least shown it.

I'm probably lame at noticing things... [In reply to] Can't Post

...but I watched the Two Towers and just noticed that Arwen was in Helms Deep for a few seconds (just behind Eomer); image

......"Since the first time I met you,
..I couldn't seem to forget you.
.......And lately I seem to find,
..That you're always on my mind.
.......Whenever I see you smile,
..It makes my life so very worthwhile.
......And ever since the very start,
.....You have always been there in my heart.
..Then I heard that you felt the same way,
......And those words were so easy to say."
