It depend what kind of polls and for what purpose they're made. If we talk about polls like the Pollantìr here I don't see any problem in them for people give their opinions about many subjects and that may start interesting debate. There are other kinds as election polls for instance use for politic. They have their uses to show tendencies and what maybe be the public opinions but they're not always accurate. It would be rash to totally rely on them in every circomstances. So, I think polls can be entertaining, useful but not always reliable.

What annoys me are polls on blogs. Far too often I see: Good OK Bad Very poor (and variations) If I see this I will tell them that there poll will give misleading results. Of course, the owner of the blog ALWAYS knows best....

That is, when they ask a question that can have a discrete answer and a good range of answers are given.

They are harmless, so long as no one takes them seriously.

I seem to bend over quite a few whilst driving the long rigs trying to back into tight spots meant for at least trailers 8ft shorter. I got to the point where i started to think, like curbs, they were designed for truckers to run over lol. Please excuse me, the wife and were enjoying her new mother's day gift, a metal raised firepit out in the back yard on a very lovely evening. Somehow, mysteriously 5 ales disappeared

They appeal to the lurker in me. Though I'll agree with others in that I dislike them when they're lopsided or only give misleading options.

If I want to take part or am forced to take part or have participation thrust upon me.... political polls drive me nuts because the questions are so skewed.... when you start beating your dog type questions...

Why, he retired - but now he's not "accident-free", training for those triathlons can cause some pains at times!
