Crossing geekdoms Can't Post

I've become addicted to a computer game called Fate, which is basically a virtual Dungeons & Dragons... I don't know why it's so habit-forming, but it is. One (or one's character) wanders through levels of a dungeon, bashing things and killing things and amassing gold and points (yes, it is indeed a guilty pleasure), and lots and lots of stuff.

Obviously the designers of the game were Tolkien geeks, because there are (of course) orcs, and giant spiders - - and this:

(Don't ask about the fish. It's a long story.)

There was also a Cheesehead, so they were geeks and football fans...

And J.R.R. Tolkien’s middle names… and the name of his publisher’s son … and the name of Aragorn’s great-great-great- grandfather on his mother’s side… and what Frodo’s name almost was…
