I've become addicted to a computer game called Fate, which is basically a virtual Dungeons & Dragons... I don't know why it's so habit-forming, but it is. One (or one's character) wanders through levels of a dungeon, bashing things and killing things and amassing gold and points (yes, it is indeed a guilty pleasure), and lots and lots of stuff.
Obviously the designers of the game were Tolkien geeks, because there are (of course) orcs, and giant spiders - - and this:
(Don't ask about the fish. It's a long story.)
There was also a Cheesehead, so they were geeks and football fans...

that World of Warcraft my son's involved in. He keeps mentioning stuff from there that is so obviously lifted from Tolkien!
And it's apparently just as addictive, also...

I know exactly what you mean. I too have recently discovered the game "Fate". Yes it is easy to see the Tolkien references. I like seeing the unicorns and such.
And it is also a great stress reliever.
