When I first read " The Hobbit", it was after the first time I watched the animated film from 1977. Since then I always pictured the The last Homely House as it did in that movie. So I took that "A frame" look and gave it a few tweaks. Hope you like it and as always, thank you for liking my paintings. Oil on canvas 24"x24".. Link to all the paintings is here http://s773.photobucket.com/albums/yy16/michaelg04/.

This is another fantastic painting! While PJ and the rest of the production team went for a far different look to Rivendell, this still is a great interpretation and also much more what I imagined. I can really see the Fellowship starting off there journey here, or even the arrival of the Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf

I am glad you like this one too. I agree with you. PJ's, or more to the point , Alan Lee the artists interpitation of Rivendell is of course a favorite of mine, but i went with a childhood experience with this one. Next up, a scene very simple in color and content but one I dont think I have ever witnessed before. Will be comming after the weekend.

Well, for starters the way the light shines is beautiful and breathtaking and the position of the trees give exactly the right touch.

It was a reply to demanon Welcome to TORN by the way! Always nice to see new people around. Just to point you in the right place, you footer image is too big, and needs to be re-sized : http://newboards.theonering.net/...;;page=unread#unread If you need any help resizing your footer, our user Magpie, will be more than happy to help (I hope she won't mind anyway )

It took me a while to get myself round these boards. I had always been used to the conventional board layout (where it was reply after another - which is flat mode here). In flat, all messages are listed in date order. However, there is also threaded view so you can look at who replied to who etc. (I'm rubbish at explaining, it's all in the FAQ's ) And your footer is fine now

It did take me a while to figure out why you had replied to me It was still a good answer though! And yes, your in the all clear I prefer using flat, just so I can see who has posted what. One of the limitations with threaded is that there is lots of clicking involved. Then, again, it's good for skipping over certain posts or posters you don't like
