8 Month's To Go! Can't Post

It's 14th April, which means in exactly 8 months time, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released!

How will you cope in the next 8 months (if at all!)? Use this thread to celebrate! It's great that we went from a very uncertain film 5 years ago, to now just 8 months! Time has flown by!

1 year whoa, it feels shorter. [In reply to] Can't Post

Can;t wait for day it comes out and all over the tabloids it;s HOBBIT HOBBIT HOBBIT.!

We are more connected than ever before, more able to spread our ideas and beliefs, our anger and fears. As we exercise the right to advocate our views, and as we animate our supporters, we must all assume responsibility for our words and actions before they enter a vast echo chamber and reach those both serious and delirious, connected and unhinged.

It seems longer than it actually is. [In reply to] Can't Post

I expect the remaining 8 month's to pass by pretty fast. When you think about it the first trailer has been release in December and now it's been already 4 month's since then! Half of the time before The Hobbit hit the theater near by you. So, 8 month's seems quite long but in fact it isn't that long. All the same, I look forward to next December 2012.

Cope? Really? [In reply to] Can't Post

Coping is what you do when you face a major life challenge, like a lay-off, or a serious illness. Waiting for a movie to come out? Not so much.

Yes, I presume [In reply to] Can't Post

The premiere will be later November early December. Has it been confirmed?

I hadn't realised that the film is released earlier in other countries. I thought the official date was 14th - why can't it be the same worldwide??

Some of these dates will probably change [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm in Norway, and the local cinema says the 12th as well, but that doesn't make much sense. Why would we and three other countries get it before the rest of the world?

Those dates are when its regular theatrical run begins. [In reply to] Can't Post

What you are referring to is the "world premiere", which is a special screening.

So soon! [In reply to] Can't Post

I remember when it was greenlit I was thinking, "HOW am I going to be able to wait that LONG?" but time has just flown by!

I'll be keeping busy with university, which will hopefully distract me from the agony of waiting.

I'll also be saving money to go to Wellington for when it premiers.. I just want to be in the middle of all the excitement!

2010 [In reply to] Can't Post

It was officially greenlit in 2010 wasn't it, but GDT had been director since 2008 (pre-production)? You're right, where has the time gone?

the mysterious ways of the film companies [In reply to] Can't Post

it's probably because those dates have been calculated to bring in a big box office total- the 26th is a popular movie going date here.

But I agree- one date for all! it's getting sillier in a global world to keep doing this.

Some countries might be getting it dubbed- hence 3rd Jan for Argentina.

I think [In reply to] Can't Post

it has less to do with dubbing but more maximizing profit for every country.
But there are far worse examples with other films where some countries get their release 3-4 months after the inital release.
Which is kinda ridiulous if you ask me especially if you take video piracy into account.

But what then??

Oh, of course, the extended scenes!! Whew! Over 2 years worth of fun right there!
